(giggle) To my friends that are hankering for my family's toffee recipe, this isn't it but it's close enough and should give you some comfort when you can't have mine >evil grin< Sorry, family recipe stays private LOL.

Ingredients

nuts
(chopped fine - food processor)

chocolate chips

butter

brown sugar
Instructions

Mix the nuts and chocolate together and spread half onto a butter lined cookie tray

Mix butter and sugar in a pot, bring to a boil, and cook until between the soft and hard crack stages 284-300 degrees on a candy thermometer

Spread this out over cookie sheet in a thin layer, top with remaining nuts/chocolate mixture spreading that out well
-
Allow to cool and break apart
