Instructions

Sift together the all-purpose four, sugar, salt, baking soda, and yeast in large bowl.

Add the warm milk and warm water.

Beat on low speed until moistened, then beat on medium speed for 3 minutes while scraping the bowl occasionally.

Stir in whole wheat flour, wheat germ, oats, and enough remaining all-purpose flour to make a stiff batter.

Grease 2 loaf pans and sprinkle them with cornmeal.

Divide batter evenly between pans.

Sprinkle with cornmeal, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until batter is about 1 inch below top of pan.

Heat oven to 400° and bake for about 25 minutes or until loaves are light brown.

Remove from pans and set on a wire rack to cool.
