Heavenly Hamburger
In the book, this particular recipe was in my Nana's handwriting. I have no idea how she came up with it. I can only guess that she grabbed whatever she had on hand and threw it together. It's actually super tasty and I always enjoy making it. It's absolute comfort food.

Ingredients

hamburger

yellow onion
(diced)

scallions
(white & small part of green only)

pepper

sour cream
(bring to room temperature for easy mixing)

cream cheese

oz
grated cheese
(of your choosing)

tomato sauce

lb
box of noodles
(I prefer bow tie or rotini)

spices
(oregano, basil, Italian seasoning ... Be creative and play)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350. Put the meat and onion into a large frying pan. Cook until browned and the onion is softened, drain the grease.

Add the spices,salt and pepper to the hamburger along with the tomato sauce. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 30 minutes.

Mix the cream cheese and sour cream together. Add scallions.

Boil noodles according to the package instructions.

Grease a 13x9x2 casserole dish. Lay the noodles in a layer. Top with the cheese. Top with the meat. Top with cheese again and bake for 15 to melt the cheese.
