Pork Chops with Au Gratin Potatoes

Ingredients

1/2" thick pork chops

cup
white wine

3/4
cup
beef broth

potatoes
(sliced 1/4" thick )

whipping cream

tbsp
butter
(margarine can be used)

tsp
nutmeg

cup
swiss cheese
(grated)
Instructions

Place chops in frying pan, covered, over medium heat for 5 minutes to draw out some of the juices. Then uncover, cook until juices have evaluated and meat is well browned on both sides. About 15min total time. Set aside.

Add wine and broth to pan scraping up the browned bits

Arrange potatoes in single layer in pan. Place chops on top. Cover and cook until potatoes are tender, about 25 minutes.

Arrange chops at one end of 10"-12" shallow oval casserole. Place potatoes at other end. Cover with foil to keep warm.

Add whipping cream to sauce in pan over high heat. Bring to a boil and reduce by half.

Turn heat to low, add butter and nutmeg and mix well until butter is melted.

Place cheese over potatoes and brown/melt under broiler for a few minutes
