Rice Krispie Cookies

I love Rice Krispies as a cereal and as the Krispies treats, so the first time I made these I was very excited. Well, this recipe certainly did not let me down. The entire batch was gobbled down by everyone in the house on the same day I made them. The decision was unanimous, they were delicious! I hope you enjoy these as much as we did!

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup rice krispies
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts (these are optional andcan also be substituted for other nuts)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream the sugar, oil, butter, and vanilla together. Add the egg and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. After that is mixed well, slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. The dough will be thick.
  4. Add Rice Krispies and if you choose to do so, also add the nuts at this time.
  5. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto a cookie sheet and flatten them with a fork. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes.
