Snickerdoodles

My family absolutely loved these cookies, they couldn't stop eating them. I had to swipe two for myself before they polished them off. With such a simple and easy recipe to follow, I honestly did not think that they would turn out so good. So whip up a batch , pour a glass of milk or make yourself a cup of coffee and enjoy!!!

Ingredients
  • cup Shortening (191g)
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar (301g)
  • 2 eggs (550g)
  • 2 3/4 cup flour (218.8g)
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar (3.38g)
  • tsp baking soda (4.80g)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (3g)
  • Mixture for rolling the cookies in:
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs until completely blended.
  2. Mix together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
  3. Add to egg mixture. Mix well.
  4. Chill dough.
  5. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
  6. Roll dough balls into a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Place on a greased cookie sheet 2-inches apart.
  8. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400 degrees until lightly brown, but still soft. These cookies puff up first, then flatten out.
