Spinach Tarts

These are a cute little appetizer, side dish, or be used for a meal or maybe even a snack.  You can make tarts sweet or savory.  This was really a good dish that I have never had before.  I will certainly be making this again.

Ingredients
  • 1 package frozen spinach drained (8 oz)
  • 1 package of small frozen pie tart shells
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp dill (can use dried or fresh dill chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp onions minced (can use dried onions if you want)
  • 1 3/4 cup grated swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp minced red bell peppers
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp minced mushrooms
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake the tart shells according to package directions.
  2. Squeeze the moisture out of the spinach. Combine all the ingredients and that includes the cheese.
  3. With a knife remove the caps and scoop out the center of the crust.
  4. Add the spinach mixture to the crust.
  5. Bake until puffed which takes about 15 minutes. Serve hot or warm.
Recipe Notes

These are a cute little appetizer that can be made to your liking.  You could add some meat to it and it would be amazing.  You might need to add more eggs.  You would just have to go by site.  These little tarts can be sweet or savory.  They could even be both. We really loved these.  My husband doesn't like vegetables and he loved these.
