Teriyaki Beef

Asian food of all kinds seemed to always be a staple in the house. This is Joni's Teriyaki Beef. In the photo, I added green beans because I love veggies.

Total Time: 30 mins
Ingredients
    Marinade
  • 1 lb london broil (use beef of your choice - cut 1/4" - 1/2" thick by 3" long strips)
  • 1 green onion (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp sherry
  • 1/2 tbsp 5 spice
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 2 tsp ginger (grated)
  • Cooking
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • Sauce
  • 2 tbsp sherry
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
Instructions
  1. Mix marinade and marinate beef for at least 10 minutes. I tend to make this the night before and let it sit in there until I'm ready to make it.
  2. Pull out of the marinade and let drip excess off then cover each slice in cornstarch
  3. Fry over medium-high heat in a small amount of oil for a few minutes until the desired doneness. I tend to cook it for about 3 minutes per side.
  4. Move the meat to a plate and let it drain, Then in the same pan add the sauce ingredients and cook stirring regularly until sugar dissolves. Add the meat back to the pan stirring to cover it in the sauce. Serve over rice, noodles or as you wish.
