Teriyaki Steak

This dish is definitely a crowd-pleaser. Easy to make, this recipe will have your family coming back for seconds (I know mine sure did). I kept it simple with the meat and rice but you could easily add some vegetables like carrots or broccoli to make this dish fit your family's tastebuds! This is something that I will be making again, and often. Most of your prep is done the day before which makes for quick cooking and flavorful meat. I hope you all love this as much as my family did, enjoy!

Ingredients
  • 2 lb steak of your choice (I prefer something with a medium fat content)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 6 cup cooked rice (i used a long grain white rice)
  • thinly sliced green onions (for garnish (optional))
  • sesame seeds (for garnish (optional))
Instructions
    Rice
  1. Make sure to check the measurements and cooking instructions on the rice you choose to ensure proper cooking.
  2. Steak
  3. Slice steak in 1in thick strips 2 to 3in long. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, honey, ginger, and garlic. Add steak to marinade, cover, and marinate in the fridge overnight.
  4. Heat a grill pan or heavy skillet over medium heat, add the butter and let it melt.
  5. While your pan is heating, take the steak out of the marinade and let it drain. Once your pan is hot, add the steak to the pan and sear or grill on all sides. Cook the steak to your desired doneness.
  6. Spoon 1 serving of rice onto a plate, add fresh black pepper to the top, add your steak pieces, if desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
