Toni’s Cabbage Creole

Great appetizer dish for everyone, each roll is packed with flavor.

Ingredients
  • 1 green cabbage
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 slices of bacon (chopped)
  • 2 onions (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp sage
  • salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Remove the leaves from the cabbage
  2. Trim some of the thick stems
  3. Pour boiling water over the leaves, let stand 5 minutes and drain thoroughly
  4. Mix the filling together
  5. Sauté until browned, stirring frequently
  6. Spoon the filling into leaves and wrap around the filling to look like a sausage
  7. Secure with toothpick
  8. Sauté rolls in enough oil to core bottom of the pan until golden brown or under broiler until brown and heated through
