Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients

egg yolks
(ONLY NEEDED WITH ICE CREAM MAKER)

sugar
(106g baker's measure)

milk
(235g baker's measure)

heavy cream
(214g baker's measure)

vanilla extract

(ONLY NEEDED WITHOUT ICE CREAM MAKER)
Instructions
With Ice Cream Maker

Whisk the egg yolks and sugar until they pale in color

Scald the milk

Whisk the milk in the eggs mixture slowly

Strain the liquid then chill the mixture for at least 1 hour, best overnight

Once the eggs mixture is chilled then add in the heavy cream and vanilla extract

Add the mixture to your ice cream maker and churn until it turns to soft serve, take about 25 - 30 minute

Once it is done churning, freeze the ice cream for at least 1 hour before serving
Without Ice Cream Maker

Beat together milk and sugar until sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes

Mix in cream, vanilla, and salt until combined.

Place mixture in deep stainless steel baking dish and freeze for 45-60 minutes.

As is begins freezing on the edges remove it from the freezer and stir vigorously or preferably mix it up with a handheld mixer for a couple of minutes.

Return it to the freezer and continue checking every 30 minutes repeating the stirring/mixing action.

Repeat process 2-3 hours until frozen through.
