Baguettes are wonderful for a side dish like garlic bread, to cut into sandwich rolls, or to cut into small slices for cheese and salami. Enjoy!! I used baker’s measures so you’ll need a scale.

Instructions
- Add flour, salt, yeast, and water to a mixer, mix until cleanup stage (when the dough is cleaning the sides of the mixing bowl for you) then mix a few more minutes
- Let it set in the bowl covered with a towel for an hour then stretch it and fold it on all sides
- Let it set in the covered bowl another 30 minutes.
- Shape it into a round and let it sit another 20 minutes.
- Shape into a loaf, by rubbing between your hands to elongate then pulling and rubbing again until a baguette has formed.
- Add ice in a bowl to the oven for the first 10 minutes of baking to cause steam. Do this by putting ice in an oven-safe bowl on the bottom rack of the oven and the bread on the center rack.
- Bake at 450 for 25 minutes total including the 10 minutes of steam time until it is golden and crisp looking.
