In the book, this particular recipe was in my Nana’s handwriting. I have no idea how she came up with it. I can only guess that she grabbed whatever she had on hand and threw it together. It’s actually super tasty and I always enjoy making it. It’s absolute comfort food.

- Preheat oven to 350. Put the meat and onion into a large frying pan. Cook until browned and the onion is softened, drain the grease.
- Add the spices,salt and pepper to the hamburger along with the tomato sauce. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 30 minutes.
- Mix the cream cheese and sour cream together. Add scallions.
- Boil noodles according to the package instructions.
- Grease a 13x9x2 casserole dish. Lay the noodles in a layer. Top with the cheese. Top with the meat. Top with cheese again and bake for 15 to melt the cheese.
