I loved taffy as a kid. The flavors are endless and they were a fun little treat! I’ve never thought about making taffy at home, but when I saw this recipe I had to give it a try. Molasses wouldn’t usually be my first pick for something like this, I’m a sucker for sweets, but these are quite tasty and are a nice change from the typical sweet treats.

Instructions
- In a heavy saucepan, combine molasses, sugar, vinegar and water. Using a candy thermometer, cook the mixture on medium heat until it reaches 255 degrees.
- Remove from heat and add butter, cream of tartar and baking soda. Mix until well combined.
- Pour mixture into a buttered dish.
- When cool enough to handle, pull pieces of taffy until light in color and shiny. Butter your hand before and during pulling as needed to stop sticking to hands.
- Twist and cut into 1 inch pieces. Wrap in parchment paper.
