- Remove the leaves from the cabbage
- Trim some of the thick stems
- Pour boiling water over the leaves, let stand 5 minutes and drain thoroughly
- Mix the filling together
- Sauté until browned, stirring frequently
- Spoon the filling into leaves and wrap around the filling to look like a sausage
- Secure with toothpick
- Sauté rolls in enough oil to core bottom of the pan until golden brown or under broiler until brown and heated through
