Triple Treat Fondant

Yields: 8 Servings Difficulty: Easy

Working with fondant is one of the easiest yet rewarding items I have made in my kitchen. Before this, I had never worked with fondant and assumed it would be hard to make and even harder to work, so imagine my surprise to find that not only is it super easy to make (and very cheap) it is so fun to work with! remember kindergarten making food with play dough? Yep pretty much the same idea( except this dough is edible)  I think the best part for me besides bribing my twins to help me was adding the flavoring (we used banana) and the coloring.  If you are going to add color to your fondant might I suggest thick gloves so your hands don’t look like you played in melted crayons. Another cool thing about fondant is that it is versatile. You can use it for cakes, cookies, and decorations! The best part of all of this…IT’S SO AFFORDABLE! that’s right.. homemade fondant will easily run you about 4 dollars top for all the ingreidents! how awesome is that when you bake on a budget like me. All in all, fondant is easy, non-expensive and some of the most fun you’ll have in the kitchen! Happy baking!
