The Stinger Cocktail originated in the US in the 1890’s and remained popular until the 1970’s. This simple drink can be enjoyed as an aperitif or digestif as it is very minty. The recipe calls for white crème de menthe, but I thought using green crème de menthe would be a great adult beverage to serve during holiday festivities. Enjoy!
This a first for me and it actually tastes pretty good. It may become one of my “go-to” cocktails for family and friends.
The name “Comfort Sour”, I believe was given because of the use in this version of a whiskey sour. Nonetheless, you may use any bourbon or rye that you like. This came from a booklet of drinks circa 1970s is my guess. Here’s the page of the booklet this came from

I added some fresh sweet raspberries to add some color and flavor. This would be perfect to enjoy during the hot summer months. For a fun twist, you could use peach or apricot sorbet!

This cocktail is known as an Alexander and may contain brandy or gin. For this recipe, I have substituted with Southern Comfort, but you may use any brandy or gin that you enjoy. Creamy and rich, this cocktail is the definition of decadence.
