Instructions
- Cut 3 pounds of lamb into 1" cubes
- Put the lamb into kettle, cover with cold water and bring to a boil.
- Add 1/2 c barley and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
- Cool, skim fat and if there are bones, remove
- Put 2 Tablespoons of butter into a heating pan
- Add carrots, celery, turnips, and onion.
- Cook about 5 minutes and then add to soup
- Add salt and pepper
- Cook until vegetables are done and add water if too dry.
