Maple Apple Cake/Pie

This was a fun and different recipe for me and the boys to do. I like the fact that it is very simple but a nice googie cake to make. It was a huge hit with the family. It is a nice mixture of apples and cake together with the perfect amount of maple syrup to make it like a caramel toffee flavor. I used 5 large apples and I had to make the cake for the top and had to almost do the measurements by 4 times so that the tops of them were covered all the way.   …

Depending on the grade of maple syrup used, this cake can have a rich, nutty quality similar to brown butter (it smells almost like nuts toasting in your oven when baking) or a light and sweet quality that serves to only compliment the chocolate. Maple Shrimp, Chicken, and Vegetables

Although I am familiar with stir fry, I have never been introduced to the addition of maple syrup.  I must admit there was a slight hesitation, but it turned out wonderful.  Definitely, a dish my family enjoyed and I will be sure to keep it in my book of recipes. I decided to serve this over yellow rice and that recipe is included here but you can serve this over white rice, basmati, brown rice, noodles, etc.   CandiAnne’s Note: We were stationed at Fort Drum, NY for 4 1/2 years and maple weekend is a huge thing there. Ginger Cake with Red Wine Pear Sauce

This recipe reminds me of when I was a child. We would go to my grandpa’s house where there were plenty of fruit trees around. Creamy Maple Mousse

This recipe was a lot of fun to make. The thought of making anything with maple syrup as the flavor profile was something that I’ve never thought to make before. I used real maple syrup for the first time and I noticed that it is much sweeter than your typical store-bought syrup such as Aunt Jemima! This is a really nice and creamy mousse. I was afraid the maple syrup may be too overwhelming for my taste, but the final product was pretty tasty!

Blueberry Maple Mousse Parfait

Once I discovered maple mousse I knew I had to try this with other flavor profiles! First thing that came to mind were blueberry pancakes. So why not a blueberry maple mousse parfait? This turned out so much tastier than I imagined! The mousse was nice and creamy, the pancakes were fluffy and the bacon gave the whole thing a nice crunchy texture. In every bite you received that nice blueberry pancake with maple syrup and bacon flavor. The mousse made it seem like a sweet treat but this parfait would be good for a meal or snack.   CandiAnne’s …

Maple Rice Pudding

This recipe calls for walnuts but since my son is allergic I substituted almonds; even pecans would be good too. For some, this recipe may be lacking a little in flavor. One could add in additional vanilla, a little bit of cinnamon, or even more maple syrup. Do what you will with it to make it the perfect dessert.

Baked Maple Rice Pudding

This recipe is full of flavor and one you will enjoy making for family and friends. You can opt to put in the raisins or not. I made this without the raisins and it was very good.

Maple Parfait

When I think of a parfait my mind goes to layered yogurt, fruit, and granola. This recipe is completely different, no yogurt, fruit, or granola at all! Plus, it’s frozen! It’s easy to make and refreshing on a hot day. If you can’t find nut brittle, use a crushed-up toffee bar to sprinkle on top.

Chocolate cake is a staple in the dessert world. I mean who doesn’t love chocolate cake right? The smaller cake is where I used the chocolate chips which gave the cake a richer taste, I paired it with the maple walnut frosting…  It seemed …

Maple Bread Pudding

I’m a sucker for a good bread pudding, let’s start there. It’s the European in me, and some things are worth it. This had to be revamped bit, so it’s an actual bread pudding, and it came out…well, you be the judge!!! I doubled the recipe, and let the bread get a bit stale before I started, which made a huge difference. Ok, let’s do this!

Maple Kisses

These maple kisses have an almost crunch texture to the candy but a smoothness thanks to the butter and are an awesome holiday gift jarred up or put into a holiday can.

Maple Peanut Fluff

Yes, fluff. Honestly, I haven’t a clue as to what this is supposed to look like, but I essentially made a marshmallow maple fluff.  It’s hyper-sweet, thick, and would be amazing with a dark chocolate addition. The original recipe is super simple, so I left it as is. If you are familiar with this nifty concoction, please tell me what it’s supposed to look like!!! Otherwise, have fun.

Custard. Man, I wish I liked it, but you know that saying about kids either loving or hating what they had in utero? Yeahhhh…BUT, I can make a mean one!!!
